We thought about:

Get Firewise

This week we have been learning about how to 'Get Firewise' during our inquiry time. We have discussed how matches/lighters are "tools not toys" and ways to stay safe around fires, heaters, barbecues and in the kitchen. Today we learnt what to do when a fire alarm goes off at home or at school. You need to 1. get out FAST 2. say "FIRE, FIRE, FIRE" 3. shut the door (if you can safely) 4. go to your safe meeting place. The children all took home a sticker in their reading folders today. It would be great if you can discuss as a family your safe meeting place and add the sticker to this spot. It may be your mailbox or gate. We were very proud of Room 2/3 today and can't wait to share our learning with the firefighters tomorrow!

Fit-a-thon

We had a great time completing the Fit-a-thon on Monday this week. All of the children in Rm 2/3 participated and completed step ups, star jumps, ski jumps, shuttle runs, skipping and burpees. Awesome effort everyone!

The Little Red Hen

We have loved learning the story of the Little Red Hen during our Storytelling this term. It was great to meet real hens during Discovery earlier in the term. Nate and his mum (Jos) brought 2 of their hens to school; they were so friendly. We have created some amazing Story Maps and Piet Mondrian art. We hope you have enjoyed hearing our story at home too!
