Travelling Roadshow

We were lucky enough to have the Travelling Roadshow visit the tamariki at Opawa School today. The librarians are such amazing storytellers and we appreciate their passion and enthusiasm. Room 2/3 particularly enjoyed the story about the rooster who would crow throughout the day (and night)! The children enjoyed seeing their peers literally take on characters. Our class Storytelling really paid as all of the children joined in with parts of the story really quickly. Ka pai koutou! Keep reading and enjoying the wealth of stories that we have at our school library and Christchurch City Libraries.

The farmer, farmer's wife, baby and dog were all having trouble sleeping with that noisy rooster flapping around!
The children were very brave standing up in front of a crowd. Wananei!
We were impressed by the lungs on the baby, as well as the farmer's magnificent beard!

Here is the farmer's wife feeling pretty tired after a long night settling the baby and the farm dog.

Run 4 Fitness

We have our Run 4 Fitness happening tomorrow at 9.15am. We will be taking off from the concrete area beside the pool and running out of the Newberry Street gate. Please feel free to come along and cheer us on! We are learning to show sportmanship by encouraging and including others. Ka mau te wehi koutou.

Shapes

We have been learning about shapes during maths. We are learning the names of shapes along with using the language corner, side, edge, thin and curved. You could have a shape hunt at home to look for all of the shapes that you have inside your house!

Letter of the Week

The Letter of the Week this week is Kk. Yy, Pp, Rr, Nn and Mm are coming up this term too. Please remember to share some news with Room 2/3 that starts with the letter of the week!
